PPR Diagnostics Ltd has several patents covering the synthesis of chromogenic substrates for the assay of hydrolytic enzymes including - glycosidases, esterases, phosphatases which are suitable for introduction into diagnostic kits. The company also has expertise in the synthesis of 4-methylumbelliferone and indolyl substrates and can work on the improvement of yields and procedures. the Company is also able to undertake custom synthesis of fine chemicals.
Chromogenic substrates
PPR has a UK patent on its chromogenic substrates which have the generalised structure.
The variability of the structures mean that the number of chromogenic substrates is infinite although in reality they are limited to several hundred.
