Highly purified Diphencyprone (99-99.5%) for the treatment of Alopaecia Areata, totalis, Universalis and recalcitrant warts

Alopaecia Areata (AA) is a common disorder affecting 0.1% of the population. Immunotherapy has proved to be an effective treatment and the agent of choice is Diphencyprone (DPC). It has been reported that a success rate for topical (on the scalp) therapy with DPC for patients with severe AA is better than 50%, although the prognosis is much better for patients who have suffered AA for shorter periods. For patients with AT and AU the success rate is only 25%, but success will depend on the circumstances.

Recalcitrant warts are one of the most common therapeutic problems encountered by the dermatologist. Treatment of recalcitrant warts with contact sensitizer DPC has proved particularly successful.

Only DPC of high purity free of the precursor (a, a –dibromodibenzyl ketone, DBBK) which may be carcinogenic, should be used in treatment. PPR provides DPC which is 99 to 99.5% pure. Full analytical details are provided with each batch.
